News to share : 2 (this and this) of my photographs have been placed as finalist (among the 821 top photos) from 25,200 photographs entered at Betterphoto.com contest :) .. Results should be out in few days!!

Reason why there has been no entries lately!

1) Busy with other things ..that I need to take care before I can start spending time behind the camera...
2) Lack of ideas / inspiration (last time I got out of this after reading a friends email, this time I don't know how/what will make me get over this slack)
3) having too much fun with other things I love! Still photography stays top of the list...

Door to Wonderland!!

News Update : I just got my 50mm f/1.8 D AF lens ... I took some test shots and went wow it's fast, sharp, small, basically an amazingly sexy piece of glass!!!

I could not wait to put up some pictures taken with the lens, here are one of the first shots ....straight out of the camera, just resized using Irfanview.

Greg - my photographer buddy at work. Suggest something fun and he is up for it. From hunting fossils in the rocks to wheeling an ATV through the trails, a master at soldering; even the 603 (tiny size of a resistor/capacitor) with no microscope :) !!

My workstation, yes its messy !! ... no can't clean it so don't suggest :)

Evening Light

Different view of the shot I took few weeks back 'Slashes of Winter'. Last shot was a test for endurance, to see how people function is bitter cold, this is capturing the 'Evening Light'

Note : Based on how your monitor is calibrated this shot might appear underexposed. I need to get myself a better monitor at work, now if only I can justify this as a reason ;)

Ithaca, NY : Taughannock Falls

After a small hike through the woods, you reach the bottom of the Taughannock Falls.

100 SP in 100 Days

Got this idea from Arnit (DPC) to do 100 self-portraits in next 100 days! Don't worry, next 100 days won't be just self portraits here, PAD entries will be different from this project.

I realized self portraits are the most difficult shots to execute, you have to visualize a lot before you can get a decent shot and I was impressed by some of his ideas. And as I begin this journey I thought of putting my first entry here!
